ECKC has been holding regular brunches at Tabu Lounge in Philadelphia since June 2016.

What are the brunches like?

Our goal is to create an inclusive and low-key alternative to the “bar scene”. We are very informal and relaxed. The brunches are not sit-down events. We’re just 15-25 friends hanging out together, sipping a few drinks and chowing down on noms. It’s a good time.

Afterward some of us also go to the Bike Stop (Philly’s main leather bar), which is only a block away.

Where are the brunches held?

Tabu is located at 200 South 12th Street in Philadelphia (at the corner of Chancellor Street, next to former 12th Street Gym). We meet on the second floor – just walk up the staircase that is directly inside the front door.

How do I get to brunch?

Tabu is one block from PATCO’s 12th & Locust station, two blocks from SEPTA’s Reading Terminal (aka Jefferson Station), and four blocks from the Greyhound bus station.

Folks often carpool from Delaware / Washington DC / New Jersey. If you are interested, ask about it in the Telegram group chat.

Where should I park?

There is limited on-street parking available (note that you must pay even though it’s a Sunday). Other popular options are the Parkway garage at 12th & Walnut, and the LAZ Hamilton Garage on 11th Street between Locust and Walnut.

Is there a cover charge?

No. Brunches are free to attend. We ask that you please order food/drink, in order to support a business that supports our community. LINK: Tabu food & drink menus

Is there an age restriction?

You must be at least 18 years old in order to attend the brunches. If you are under 21 years old, you may attend but cannot drink alcohol. The restaurant asks that you please sit at one of the tables, rather than at the bar counter.

Is there a dress code?

Gear is encouraged but not required. Many pups bring hoods/harnesses/collars/show tails, and sometimes the rubber pups even get suited up. The only rule is that genitals/butt must be covered, because of PA Liquor Control Board restrictions.
