Tumblr Rant

Tumblr has been my main social media platform, especially since I became a pup. There's a good sized pup community there, it's easy to find each other, and it probably has the most of my target audience. It has everything I need in a website and I've been using it since 2010.

I had exactly 1500 followers when Tumblr announced their new terms and conditions regarding NSFW content.

This policy change is going to force me to move to a new website, regardless of whether I stop posting NSFW content or not. People are leaving the site, so even if I continue there, no one will see the content I post. I have been losing followers every day since the announcement and it will only continue. Twitter is currently the alternative that people are choosing but it too will become a target to censorship. Besides, I don't like it that much as a platform anyway. It's not really what I'm looking for.

I am very upset about this entire thing for a lot of reasons but I mainly hate that they are censoring people. This will affect artists and content creators and we're being forced out of the site. Honestly, we all know at least 80% of people use Tumblr for NSFW things or like it because of how chill it is about that stuff. They're shooting themselves in the foot by getting rid of almost everyone that uses the website.

Even if they change their minds about the new policy, everyone has already started to leave. It sucks a lot but I don't want to be on a site that is going to ruin itself.

I have made so many pup friends on Tumblr and I'm so glad that all of it happened but now it's all gone. Yes, we can stay in contact elsewhere, but the space we created there will be destroyed.

RIP the Tumblr pup community. RIP my blog. Rip every NSFW blog.
